The youth group of the Anchor Baptist Church is known as the Navigators. Young people in grades seven through twelve meet each Wednesday night during the school year from 7:00 P M until 8:30 P M for a time of Bible instruction as well as a time of fellowship. (Navigators meets from 7:30 P M until 8:30 P M during the summer months.)
Various activities are held throughout the year for the Navigators youth group. Some activities have a spiritual emphasis such as door to door visitation and the nursing home ministry. Other activities which are more for fun and fellowship include activities in the gym, going to an amusement park, bus and van wash, ice skating, attending a minor league baseball game, bowling, Christmas caroling, hiking, and biking.
Youth in this age group are also encouraged to attend a Sunday school class for them at 9:45 A M.
This last summer members of the youth group went on a ministry trip to help churches in Illinois and Missouri. The two week trip allowed the youth the opportunity to help these churches by distributing gospel literature door to door and participating in the services at these churches by presenting special music.
