Every Wednesday evening during the school year, the Shipmates Club meets from 7:00 P M until 8:30 P M. Utilizing the Masters Club material, children earn badges by memorizing God's Word, perfecting Bible oriented skills and learning to practice good character traits.
Shipmates is divided into groups based upon age. These groups are given names such as Little Skippers, Waves, or Ensigns. (The teen department is called Navigators.) On a typical Wednesday evening, the various classes will have book time, Bible time and game time. At the beginning and ending of each meeting, the groups assemble together to sing, hear announcements and receive awards.
Sunday school classes are available each Sunday morning at 9:45 A M according to age groups. Children's Churches also meet on Sunday mornings at 11:00 A M and are again grouped by age.
Each summer brings special opportunities for children at Anchor. Each June the young people attend Independent Baptist Camp of Utah. Founded in 1990, I.B.C. offers campers the opportunity to fellowship with those of like Baptist faith while being challenged daily in the Bible. Recreation includes daily swim times, game times, craft or project times and hikes. Campers stay in nice cabins according to gender and age with adult chaperones. The camp cooks provide outstanding meals three times a day. At a rate of only $110.00 per camper for the entire week, I.B.C. is an affordable investment in a child's life!
Summer also brings the annual Vacation Bible School each July. Students have a daily time in the Bible as well as craft and game times with a daily snack before going home.
